DESCRIPTION
The School of Arts and Humanities is a unique academic school at UC San Diego. Established in 1963, it encompasses six academic
departments, a wide range of interdisciplinary programs and research centers and nationally and internationally recognized faculty. We offer

The Program and Project Analyst brings their trained
expertise in the principles of program and project management to the public engagement team, led by the Assistant Dean of Strategic
Engagement. Incumbent applies professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a
variety of policy, research and procedural issues. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates
alternatives and makes sound recommendations
Strong organizational skills are needed, as this position serves as a point person and
manager of key projects associated with the complete public-engagement portfolio. The position will coordinate and manage gift- and
grant-specific requirements, including those directly associated with forthcoming awards in the Dean’s Office.
The position will
directly manage key enrollment management outreach projects, including being the administrative lead for our high-school programs with VAPA,
The Preuss School and Discover UC San Diego. They will coordinate and manage workshops and visits to campus, build relationships with
university partners through regular check-ins, updates and in-person hosting. Incumbent will collect assessment data through the use of
surveys and interviews with stakeholders.
This is a public-facing position that represents the team, Dean’s Office, and School of
Arts and Humanities to relevant constituencies: staff, faculty and students in the school, as well as community partners. This position will
interface directly with the planning committee of the Kyoto Symposium and additional academic-related committee work assigned by the
assistant dean, support upper administration through information gathering, reporting and on-site visits.
The incumbent will support
the implementation of the school’s Staff Engagement and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion plans, analyzing strategies through data/survey
collection and informal interviews with staff, faculty and students to provide policy guidance to upper administration. Data analysis will
include review of Staff@Work survey results, information on schoolwide hiring practices/results, and collection of assessment metrics from
key events and programs. The position will also be the lead organizer of our Faculty Mentorship Program, providing guidance for
best-practices in workshop facilitation and collecting feedback via informal surveys that will give direction to future iterations.
Moderate event management skills are required, including strategic planning, inviting and interacting with guest speakers,
coordinating internal and external vendors, monitoring and tracking event budgets, and fiscal reconciliation within campus financial
systems. A high level of responsibility and sound understanding of policies related to event management is key, and the Program and Project
Analyst will attend, manage and lead multiple events during the year, primarily focused on employee-attended workshops, town halls and
committee meetings.
Additionally, this position facilitates the communication portion of several programs and projects, including
website management, digital and print promotions, email and newsletter management, and minimal graphic design, keeping us on message and
within the strong brand of the university. Related, the position will facilitate the completion of written reports and presentations to
upper administration and external grant organizations.
The position requires strict confidentiality and sensitivity, a high level of
time-management skills, attention to detail, flexibility, tact and independent judgment. While performing duties, the incumbent must
demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in a rapidly changing, time-pressured environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience with successful event planning and organization of
special events, including familiarity with general accepted practices of the industry. Proven skills to handle logistics from a wide variety
of special events including lectures, seminars, and workshops for in-person and/or virtual events. - Demonstrates ability to analyze,
research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to respond to ad hoc statistical data
requests by utilizing various programs, applications, relational databases, and creating customized reports/spreadsheets. Demonstrated
ability to logically analyze complex situations and data and develop clear and concise reports or recommendations. - Demonstrated
ability to lead and manage interdisciplinary programs, with proven ability to analyze data sets, interpret and apply management principles,
practice and techniques in the conduct of business for multi-discipline, public and privately funded programs. - Demonstrated
experience using MS Office and Google applications. Ability to learn new and upgraded software and apply skills to current workload/project
work. - Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Working knowledge of common organization-
or research-specific and other computer application programs. - Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate
effectively, both verbally and in writing. - Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all
confidentiality. - Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
- Demonstrates ability to
analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail. - Proficient in ability to multi-task with
demanding timeframes. - Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication
skills with ability to exercise tact, resourcefulness, good judgment, understanding and persuasion in interactions with a diverse
population. - Willingness to continually investigate and update skills and keep abreast of changes in policies, procedures, technology
and compliance. - Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. Ability to establish professional working relationships and
interact effectively with diverse groups having competing interests and priorities. - Demonstrated skill in assessing needs and
developing strategies to support diversity and inclusion.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $58,600
– $100,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $28.07 – $48.28
Factors in
determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and
certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or
hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the
University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when
applicable).
