Provalus of Brewton, Alabama, an IT services company, is expanding to Walnut Ridge with plans to create up to 200 jobs, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission announced.
Mike Keogh, president of the Provalus, said the expansion aligns with the company’s mission to “bring transformative opportunities to rural America.”
“This new site will allow us to tap into the incredible talent that Arkansas has to offer, creating jobs that will drive both local and regional economic growth,” he said in a news release. “We are committed to investing in the community and are excited to see how our presence here will foster innovation and development. Walnut Ridge is a perfect fit for Provalus, and we look forward to working with local leaders and residents while making a lasting, positive impact.”
Provalus was founded in 2017. Part of its mission is to onshore IT services that have been outsourced to overseas firms over the years. The company provides paid training programs that have elevated U.S. workers from jobs outside of technology to careers as technical support analysts, network operations and cyber security analysts, system engineers, and more.
Provalus offers services in business optimization, cloud and infrastructure, data analytics and intelligence, cybersecurity, and application and product development.
The company employs more than 600 people in Alabama, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Oklahoma, according to its website.
The company hosted a community engagement event in Walnut Ridge on Tuesday to meet job seekers.
“Provalus is an absolute game changer for Walnut Ridge,” said Walnut Ridge Mayor Charles Snapp, adding that the company with have a “tremendous, positive impact on our city, particularly our downtown area.”
