Overview
The position coordinates and implements assigned recruitment programs targeted to high school students, business and industry personnel, military personnel, minority populations, and other identified market segments. The position coordinates various recruitment activities both on and off campus.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement various recruitment programs targeted to;
- High school students to include but not be limited to high school visitations, the provision of information to guidance and instructional personnel, the proctoring of the college placement assessments in the high schools, the coordination of tours to the main campus and the coordination of the linkage between Brookdale and high schools.
- Non-traditional and adult populations to include but not be limited to visits to local libraries, program presentations to civic and religious organizations, open houses and general information programs.
- Minority populations to include but not be limited to , the establishment of linkages between Brookdale faculty and staff and potential minority students, visits to community centers, and development of campus programs that will attract minorities, and the development of high school and junior high school linkages.
- Business and industry personnel to include but not be limited to visits to local businesses and industries and the establishment of linkages between Brookdale faculty and staff with business and industry personnel.
- Other recruitment programs to accomplish the Admissions department’s goals and the College’s goals.
- Provide admissions advice to prospective applicants and assist students in completing processes necessary for admissions and registration.
- Arrange meetings for students with other Brookdale staff members. Perform various recruitment activities, including but not limited to;
- Handle/transport recruitment materials and equipment from Brookdale to recruitment sites.
- Assist full time staff members with recruitment events planned through the office.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping systems for prospects utilizing the computerized inquiry system and manual methods.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of related work experience in recruiting, community outreach, or student services.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-project, fast-paced environment and meet concurrent deadlines.
- Ability to maintain knowledge of policies, regulations, and guideline related to the position functions.
- Ability to work well with a diverse college student population.
- Ability to work collaboratively and to address problems through team work.
- Proven computer literacy with utilizing and applying Microsoft Office applications as well as specialized software programs and computer applications.
- Ability to learn applicable Federal and State regulations as well as the College procedures, policies and regulation.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings/weekends).
- Ability to travel locally and to other sites.
