Purpose/Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY
The case manager provides enrollment, academic advising, and completion support to adult learners to earn their high school diploma and transition to for-credit or non-credit college programs at CCD. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Admissions, Recruitment, and Outreach: High School Diploma Program, the case manager provides appropriate support including referrals for tutoring, career exploration, and community resources. The position focuses heavily on issues of equity and access, supporting college structures to engage adult learners as the college enhances tools for success. This role requires a deep commitment to student success and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community partners.
The position will remain open until filled, with priority consideration given to applications submitted by December, 5th 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment, Case Management, and Advisement
- Exercise a ‘recruit to retain” positionality when outreaching and recruiting participants for program
- Assist potential students with the application and enrollment process
- Conduct information and orientation sessions to familiarize students with the program’s expectations, resources, and support services
- Using a holistic educational case management framework, engages with students for check-ins, registration, enrollment verification and tracking, schedule adjustments, higher education systems navigation, and high school diploma completion- enhancing CCD’s servingness by providing student-focused and equity-minded practices
- Monitor student attendance, progress, and performance throughout their time in the program
- Identify and address barriers to student success, such as transportation, childcare, and financial challenges.
- Direct students to appropriate support resources when necessary
- Empower students to be excellent self-advocates for their own educational goals
Career and College Transition
- Assist students with the transition to for-credit or non-credit college programs at CCD, continuing to support their economic mobility after high school diploma completion.
- Create mechanisms to ensure the students have proper guidance on the CCD college application process, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities
- Provide resource referrals for workshops and seminars on resume writing, job search strategies, and interview preparation
Community and Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and strengthen cross-departmental knowledge, sharing of processes, and student success collaboration and coordinated care throughout CCD
- Work effectively both individually and as a member of a team.
- Build and maintain relationships with and create and conduct presentations for local schools, community organizations, and employers to support recruitment opportunities
- Actively participate in departmental and college meetings
Records, Data, and Administrative functions
- Maintain accurate records of all recruiting and advising contacts using identified departmental resources
- Demonstrate effective, responsive communication in a multi-cultural, multi-faceted environment
- Manage caseload to ensure timely communication, focus, workload, and documentation.
- Exhibit knowledge and expertise related to high school diploma program requirements and options, and CCD pathways and programs of study.
- Adhere to departmental and CCD processes and procedures
- Prepare and submit reports on recruitment, student retention, completion rates, and post-program success to the Associate Director
- Complete required state and institutional reporting for the program
- Use data to inform and improve recruitment, advising, support practices, and completion

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: (Required/Minimum)
Experience: (Required/Minimum)
- One (1) year experience with adult learners in academic advising, student support services, or a related role, preferably in a community college or adult education setting.
- One (1) year working with first-generation students, low-income students, and/or Black and Hispanic students.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting educational equity.
- Demonstrated experience working successfully in a position with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Ability to work independently and with flexibility.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: (Required/Minimum)
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively present. information one-on-one and in small or large multi-generational groups of diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain records with intermediate proficiency with Excel (filter, sort) and other Microsoft office programs including the ability to keep materials in ADA/WCAG approved formatting.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage a large caseload independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated success in identifying, securing, and communicating educational or career resources to meet the needs of prospective program participants.
- Bilingual.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the greater Denver area.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, to accommodate student need.
