Job Description:

Christian Brothers University is seeking a highly professional and experienced individual for the position of Director of Undergraduate Admissions who will collaboratively develop, implement and execute admission strategies that fulfill the University’s enrollment objectives; direct all domestic and international traditional student recruitment and admissions functions; research and plan departmental initiatives; monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of admissions policies, practices and procedures; lead in the development of recruitment materials and establish communication strategies utilizing current technologies; manage the admissions process, including the review of applicant information and decisions; oversee events for prospective students and families; oversee the student tour guide program; oversee the day-to-day operations of the Undergraduate Admissions Office including the hiring, supervision and training of staff members, and work with the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management to maintain strategic budget and resource management practices. The position will foster campus partnerships to positively influence relationship building in the recruitment process. The position reports to the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops and coordinates the freshman, transfer, returners, and special student enrollment process for the University
  • Is responsible for the hiring, training, development, retention, supervision and deploying of Admissions Department staff, including remote employees;
  • Develops student search strategies;
  • Implements campus visit programs;
  • Collaborates with academic and student service departments to impact the successful transition of traditional students into the University;
  • Directs the undergraduate admissions program, and works in collaboration with the CRM expert to ensure smooth data and information system management, application processing, admission decisions and notification, and preparation of reports;
  • Collaboratively develops and implements a comprehensive undergraduate marketing strategy, including advertising, publications and communication flows;
  • Develops professional relationships focused on new student enrollment; assists with the development and implementation of enrollment management plans and policies including financial aid and retention strategies;
  • Manages the budget for the Admissions Department
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline. A master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of enrollment planning strategies, including recruitment/admission policies and procedures
  • Budgeting processes
  • Strong demonstrated management/planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal/human relations skills, including supervisory skills
  • Ability to initiate and maintain professional relationships and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of enrollment management’s tenants of recruitment and retention.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to diversity.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently.
  • Demonstrated skill in effective communication (written and verbal) and public presentations.
  • Prior professional experience with and sensitivity to diverse populations.
  • Ability to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible hours.
  • Knowledge of the technologies used in student recruitment, e.g., Slate.
  • Strong Customer Service and Customer Care skills and experience; Ability to maintain a positive attitude that will promote a healthy cultural climate in Admissions.
  • Proven management skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various constituencies to meet admissions goals.
  • A solid background in information technology, strategic planning, and marketing.
  • Prior experience working with student information systems (preferably Slate and Banner).
