Job
Description:

Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by contacting and cultivating prospective students and applicants;
provides supervision to other members of the admissions team and/or to critical processes necessary within the cultivation and recruitment
of an incoming class.

Salary: $58,656/year or more depending on experience.

Essential Functions

  1. Supervises critical processes within application recruitment, management and enrollment of the inbound class.
  2. Promotes
    communication plans with counselors to maximize the efficacy of the daily outreach plan.
  3. Sets and manages productivity standards
    and goals for the admissions team.
  4. Supervises, trains, and evaluates up to two-three admission staff members, and student
    workers.
  5. Troubleshoots any issues that may arise on a daily basis, university travel, and during special visitation
    events.
  6. Maintains the highest standards of customer service, confirming that all staff members are providing accurate, timely and
    useful information to prospective students, families, and members of the university community.
  7. Supervises of a caseload of 350-500
    prospective students.
  8. Maintains communication with all students, on a bi-weekly or monthly basis by utilizing various communication
    methods including, but not limited to: phone calls, emails, and text messages.
  9. Manages applications to include gathering information
    for incomplete files; preparing completed applications; making decisions on student applicants and cultivating applicants from a specific
    geographic location.
  10. Communicates with students and families about the various aspects of the college search/decision process
    including, but not limited to: financial aid, billing, academics, lifestyle, athletics, and student interest clubs.
  11. Develops strong
    relationships with prospective students and their families throughout the admission cycle including personal communication in a written and
    electronic format, phone calls and personal interaction as necessary.
  12. Counsels and advises students about financial aid eligibility,
    financial aid application procedures, aid programs, costs, and indebtedness.
  13. Ensures that all visiting students and families have a
    pleasant and informative visit to campus by supporting the success of various student-visit programs through conducting information
    sessions, campus tours, one-on-one interviews, virtual events, and collaborating with a wide variety of departments and offices across
    campus.
  14. Represents the University at on and off-campus events including open houses, regional events, and academic showcases and
    strategic high school visits.
  15. Plans and executes travel in select geographic areas; to include college fairs, classroom
    presentations and individual meetings with applicants, often including some nights and weekends.
  16. Develops and manages a marketing
    plan based on geographic territories and specific academic programs.

Other Functions

  1. Assesses the
    performance of direct reports and provides frequent feedback to optimize their performance.
  2. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive
    or private information.
  3. Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner.
  4. Serves on
    University committees, councils, workgroups or other designated bodies as assigned.
  5. Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes
    computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software.
  6. Speaks, reads and writes in
    English.
  7. Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device.
  8. Performs other tasks as assigned by
    supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Additional Admissions/Recruitment experience
    may substitute for completed degree.
  • 3 years Admissions/Recruitment experience preferred. Experience in a progressive management or
    leadership role.
  • Understanding of best practices in enrollment and recruiting.
  • Supervisory experience
    preferred
  • Military experience, military school experience or ROTC experience(s) a plus, but not required
  • A valid driver’s
    license is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook); experience with Banner and Slate
    preferred
  • Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 20 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts
    of the campus
  • Schedule will include some evening or weekend hours
  • Travel as needed (public or private
    transportation)

Environmental Conditions

  • Indoor work at a computer workstation
  • Low level
    of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes.
