Position Purpose
Commonwealth University is seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions at the Lock Haven campus!

Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania, a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), was formed in July 2022 through the integration of Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield Universities to become one of the largest universities within the PASSHE system.
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this position will be responsible for managing an assigned recruitment territory which may include both new transfer and first-year students. This campus-based position in Lock Haven, PA is an integral part of a high functioning recruitment team that emphasizes timely follow up with prospective students, a data-driven approach to funnel management, and heavy use of technology to meet enrollment targets. The incumbent will generate inquiries, applications, and ultimately enrolled students to Commonwealth University through a variety of outreach channels (text, phone, and email), visits to high schools and college fairs, transfer fairs and hosting groups on campus.
Seasonal travel is required for approximately 3 months in the fall and 3 months in the Spring, along with some nights and weekends.
Description of Duties
Recruitment and Travel (50%)
- Coordinates, plans, and executes a cost-effective Fall and Spring recruitment travel schedule.
- Visits high schools and community colleges to represent Commonwealth University at all relevant recruitment events or programs.
- Responsible for assisting students and families in every step of the enrollment process from inquiry to enrolled, including, but not limited to: financial aid packaging review, orientation, housing assistance, academic program discovery, placement testing information, admissions processes, etc.
- Host off-campus area receptions to generate applications or convert admitted students to enrolled.
- Serve as point of contact for Commonwealth University to school counselors and related high school and community college personnel.
- Evaluate transfer credit from other institutions
- Renders appropriate admissions decisions on first year and transfer
applications.
Extensive use of Slate CRM (30%)
- Conduct extensive phone, email, and text follow-ups with key inquiries and applicants.
- Use of data reporting to understand targeted demographics and prioritizing recruitment activities.
Office Responsibilities (20%)
- Conducting group presentations, special campus programming, including transfer days and evenings, and meeting individually with visitors to explain the features, benefits, and proofs of a Commonwealth University degree.
- Maintain a common calendar showing availability and activity each week.
- Update and track recruitment activities .
- Hosting bus visits and group visits to the campus .
- Shares responsibility in the daily operation of the admissions office, to include updating the office calendar, fulfilling Counselor-of-the day responsibilities, hosting bus visits when appropriate, doing group presentations.
