JOB TITLE:
Admissions Representative
JOB PURPOSE:
The Admissions Representative is responsible for introducing the University of Wyoming (UW) to prospective students and their families. This role involves building relationships, providing accurate information, and offering support throughout the admissions process. The Admissions Representative will engage in extensive recruitment travel, meeting with prospective students and families, presenting during campus visits and events, and other recruitment activities. The Admissions Representative will communicate effectively with all stakeholders and understand the recruitment funnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in executing recruitment strategies within an assigned territory, including travel to represent UW at college fairs, high schools, and events.
- Build relationships with prospective students, families, and high school counselors, providing information about UW’s programs, admissions process, and campus life.
- Monitor and track the status of admission applicants within the assigned territory, ensuring timely processing of applications and documents.
- Deliver presentations to prospective students and their families during campus visits and at recruitment events, highlighting UW’s strengths and offerings.
- Conduct outreach to target markets through phone calls, emails, and other communication channels, ensuring engagement with prospective students.
- Respond to inquiries from prospective students, families, and other stakeholders, providing accurate and timely information regarding the admissions process.
- Collaborate with other admissions staff, academic departments, and campus offices to ensure a positive experience for prospective students throughout the admissions process.
- Participate in the planning and coordination of admissions programs, including orientation sessions and open houses.
- Please note: this position requires extensive travel in recruiting territories, weekend events, and hours outside the normal 8:00-5:00 p.m. work week.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in collecting data, preparing reports, and maintaining program files to support recruitment and admissions activities.
- Attend and participate in professional development workshops and conferences related to university admissions and student recruitment.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: One year of community service, leadership, college involvement and/or service in student affairs or similar capacity
Required licensure, certification, registration, or other requirements: Valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with and ability to travel for extended periods throughout Wyoming and other states.
- Knowledge of or familiarity with university enrollment processes: admissions, financial aid, orientation, advisement, or transfer processes.
- Ability or experience with maintaining accurate databases and data entry on university or business/student information systems.
- Experience with event planning, production and or management.
- Ability to make presentations in front of large and small audiences.
- Experience with marketing or promotional campaigns.
- Ability to make effective decisions and think independently.
- Ability to provide high caliber customer service in a fast-paced setting.
