Job Description
The Admissions Advisor is a pivotal member of the Enrollment and Integrated Marketing organization at Texas State Technical College (TSTC), contributing significantly to the mission of placing Texans into high-paying jobs. In this role, the Admissions Advisor executes both internal and external activities to attract applicants and supports them through the admissions process. Reporting directly to the Team Lead of Admissions, the Admissions Advisor serves as a key contributor with some supervision.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Consistently embody TSTC Core Values (Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity) when interacting with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and the community.
Advisory Role:
Assist prospective and new applicants in identifying programs aligning with their career goals.
Guide students through the admissions process, ensuring all application requirements are met.
Assist students in determining methods of financing including but not limited to assistance with completion of the FAFSA.
Student Enrollment Growth:
Manage a student applicant caseload, providing personalized advisement.
Answer questions, troubleshoot needs related to the admissions process, and effectively guide prospective students.
Collaboration Across Departments:
Collaborate with various TSTC departments, including Veteran Services, Financial Aid, Registrar’s Office, Student Operations, and Student Services and Enrollment.
Support applicants’ admissions experience, set up campus tours, and coordinate efforts to enhance understanding of TSTC’s product line.
Compliance and Record Management:
Community Engagement:
Visit various community locations, including high schools, to attend events, represent, and promote TSTC.
Provide information related to TSTC programs and applications.
Technology Utilization:
Utilize various software programs to track prospective student outreach and follow-up.
Maintain student records, track activity, and generate reports on monthly engagement targets and semester admissions objectives.
Admissions and Administrative Duties:
Perform general admissions and administrative duties, including collecting and uploading documents, and reviewing documents for quality control.
Undertake other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements:
This position requires travel during working hours, up to 25% of responsibilities.
Occasional travel up to 5% of responsibilities that may involve overnight stays.
Occasional availability on nights and weekends may be required.
