Department Summary:
Drake University’s Office of Admission is responsible for enrolling
the University’s undergraduate. Lead by the Dean of Admission and in collaboration with a team of talented professionals, this department
recruits future Bulldogs (students, not actual bulldogs) from within Iowa and across the United States.

Summary:
The Office of Admission seeks a dynamic individual to join their amazing team. We are hiring for an Admission
Counselor to manage an assigned recruitment territory and assist in achieving the student recruitment and enrollment objectives for the
university. The Admission Counselor will represent Drake University to a variety of constituents including prospective students and parents,
school counselors, and others. This position requires some travel to the assigned territory to meet with students, their families, and high
school counselors. The Admission Counselor will work with students through the entire recruitment process, from inquiry to matriculation. We
are looking for someone with outstanding communication skills; who thrives connecting and building relationships with others; and has a keen
attention to detail, positive attitude, and a drive to meet established goals.
Minimum Qualifications:

Baccalaureate Degree
* Knowledge of specialized principles or techniques normally obtained through a four-year college/university
academic program or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program directly related to the type of work being performed
* A current
Driver’s License and the ability to be insured by the University’s insurance carrier required.

Job Duties:
- 55% – Manage assigned recruitment territory to achieve enrollment goals.
Responsibilities include recruitment travel in territory, building relationships with various constituencies in the territory, and report
generation. The admission counselor will also assist in the development, promotion, and execution of a variety of admission recruitment
events and activities, both in-person and virtually. Additionally, the admission counselor will participate in the evaluation of
applications from their territory. – (Essential) - 15% – Manage communication within assigned recruitment territory. This can include
the creation of messaging, receipt and response to phone calls, emails, social media, and other information requests. – (Essential) - 15% – Meet with prospective students and families during visits to Drake University. These meetings may occur in either individual or
group settings. – (Essential) - 5% – Assist in the development of and participate in activities related to public relations and
recruitment of prospective students. In addition, provide an evaluation of admission/marketing plans, policies and strategies. -
(Essential) - 5% – Create standard and ad-hoc reports and queries from admission/registration databases. Use data to make informed
decisions about territory. – (Essential) - 5% – Serve as a key member of the Admissions team in supporting its commitment to Drake’s
mission and core values; providing excellent customer service and support to current and prospective students; and helping plan and execute
Admission Office events, strategies, trainings, and initiatives. Serve on standing and ad hoc committees, as directed. Perform other duties,
as assigned. – (Essential)
