RU to start admission for intermediate classes by Aug 24

Ranchi: Ranchi University (RU) has on Saturday issued an order stating that in view of Jharkhand High Court (HC) interim order it would initiate steps for starting admission in intermediate classes of its constituent colleges by August 24. The decision was taken after Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members gheraoed VC Dr Ajit Kumar Sinha demanding immediate resolution for admission in RU’s intermediate classes.
ABVP leader, Bambhola Upyadhaya said, “A large number of students particularly of rural areas are awaiting admission in the RU colleges. Poor students cannot study in private schools and colleges.” The VC discussed the issue with other university officials and asked the registrar to issue the order. Speaking to media persons, the VC said he was under pressure from the students wing for starting admission.
