Higher Education Council (HEC) approved the admission of 38,260 male and female students in the the Kingdom’s public bachelor’s programs, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced Thursday, Petra reports.

The ministry added that the university admission lists also set the numbers allocated for students, who benefit from the Royal benefaction to Jordan’s tribes in Jordanian Badia schools and other areas with special circumstances.

The ministry also noted the lists set the admission number for holders of foreign high school certificates and sons of Jordanian women married to non-Jordanian nationals.

Additionally, the council approved the admission of 8,115 male and female students in the Kingdom’s intermediate diploma stage.

In a statement to “Petra,” the ministry’s media spokesperson, Muhannad Khatib, said the council approved, in its recent session, headed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Azmi Mahafzeh, the numbers that will be admitted into the regular “competitive” program for the bachelor’s stage in the nine official Jordanian universities.
