Admissions Officer I

Job Description:

This position is responsible for evaluating and accurately posting transfer
credits from various institutions onto students’ official records. The ideal candidate will showcase strong attention to detail,
professionalism, and the ability to thrive under time constraints, recognizing the high-profile nature of this role for applicants and
campus partners.

Key responsibilities include:

Transfer Credit Evaluation

  • Create initial records of
    academic credit and initiate the evaluation of transfer academic credit from various sources, including electronic, paper, PDF transcripts,
    and test scores.
  • Utilize systems such as Slate, OnBase, and Campus Solutions to match transfer credit from other institutions to
    the UF format.
  • Make independent decisions on appropriate equivalencies to UF coursework.
  • Accurately code transfer
    institution type, course level, transferability, Gordon Rule requirements, and other complex coding practices critical to the evaluation
    process.
  • Post graduate credit, UF international program credit, military credit, and credit by exam.
  • Train other
    admissions staff on the transfer evaluation processes.
  • Collaborate as a team member within the OneStop Enrollment Services to
    handle transfer evaluation related cases.

Communication and Information Services

  • Demonstrate knowledge of
    prospective freshman, transfer, and readmissions applications.
  • Provide accurate information to prospective students, parents, and
    campus colleges.
  • Communicate with the public through email, phone inquiries, and occasional walk-ins.

Holistic
Review Process

  • Assist in the holistic review process for freshman applicants.
  • Manage weekly assignments of
    application files and ensure timely completion.
  • Prepare decision recommendations for assigned territories.

Other
duties

  • Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the
    Office of Admissions.

This position is located at the University of Florida’s main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be
eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management’s
policies.

Expected Salary:

$43,888 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work and training
    assignments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with customer service and public relations
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of University of Florida and State University System policies
  • Experience with Slate and/or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
