GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
The Pre-College Coordinator will support Middlesex College’s K-12 partnership efforts, including dual enrollment and other grant-funded programs. This role is essential in building relationships with high schools, increasing enrollment, and ensuring smooth transitions for K-12 students entering pre-college programs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Designs and implements recruitment strategies to increase K-12 program enrollment, with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Actively engages in student recruitment through social media, virtual and in-person events, and tailored presentations.
- Assists with coordination efforts surrounding campus visits for partner K-12 districts.
- Coordinates the planning and execution of K-12 programs, including Dual Enrollment, High School Scholars, Middle School Career Exploration and other grant-funded programs as needed.
- Assists students and guidance counselors with course selection and the registration process each semester.
- Collaborates with other College departments to ensure seamless services for K-12 students.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for all high school counselors, liaisons, dual enrollment students, high school scholars, and parents.
- Assists with the coordination of staff and departmental workflow in the absence of the Director.
- Assists in developing clear academic pathways for dual enrollment and high school scholars students.
- Assists with reviewing, processing and audits of registration and enrollment processes, including student applications, supplementary documents, confirmations of enrollment, payment submission, and accommodations where necessary.
- Utilizes the CRM and ERP systems for the K-12 Partnerships department, ensuring accurate student records and streamlined processes.
- Responds to inquiries from prospective applicants and builds relationships, with leads from point of inquiry to registration, utilizing technology to effectively manage the process.
- Works with Marketing and Communications and Media Services to develop materials used for program recruitment and retention.
- Assists in coordinating events.
- In collaboration with the Admissions and Recruitment Office, converts dual enrollment and high school scholar students into full- and part-time students through enrollment events, communication, connective on-site activities, and various marketing efforts.
- Assists in the training and coordination of K-12 staff and Admissions College Connection Coordinators
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with K-12 populations;
- Experience working with students, parents, and K-12 administrators; and
- Experience using a college’s enterprise resource planning system.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree; and
- Experience with student information systems, CRM and Colleague ERP
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
- Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. The amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
- Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
- Handling: Picking, holding, or otherwise working, primarily with the whole hand.
- Hearing 1: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound.
- Mental Acuity: Ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes.
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
- Speaking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word including the ability to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately and concisely.
- Visual Acuity 1: Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive reading.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. as determined by Director
Some evenings and weekends may be required
