The Office of Admissions employs more than 50 staff members
with primary responsibilities for the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of undergraduate domestic students. The department is comprised
of a diverse group of employees who strive to represent the university professionally and courteously to internal and external consituents.
The department encourages professional development, educational advancement, and consistent internal communication. The Office of Admissions
has a variety or roles and work environments including on-campus staff, remote staff, and positions that allow for extensive travel.

Role Summary
Implements recruitment plans, organizes
events, works with staff and student/alumni volunteers, evaluates admissions applications and represents the institution to prospective
students with a goal of attracting, admitting, and enrolling a talented, geographically diverse student body.
The primary
responsibilities of this position include communicating with prospective students and families, attending recruitment events at high
schools, community colleges and other venue, planning and executing recruitment events away from campus, assisting with special visit days
and conferences for prospective students and families, evaluating prospective student academic credentials, providing admissions counseling
and direction to prospective students, and supporting the overall mission of the university and the Division of Enrollment
Management.
Position will be based in East Central Mississippi and will recruit in the east central portion of the state (Meridian to
Columbus). Candidate should exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills and should be comfortable conducting presentations to
large and diverse audiences. Position requires extensive travel and work hours beyond a traditional 8-5 schedule during peak recruitment
season.

Performed
- Assists in the planning and implementation of admissions and recruitment strategies including social media,
websites, and content. - Represents the University at various recruitment events to interpret state-mandated and institutional
admissions requirements, provide financial information and guidelines, and give information regarding courses of study and other facets of
the University to prospective students, both traditional and non-traditional, and to families and school counselors and other
officials. - Participates with the departmental leadership in defining key schools, sets new student enrollment targets for each of
those schools, and devises and implements strategies to reach those targets. - Visits high schools within assigned region and conducts
meetings with prospective students while building relationships with alumni, school counselors, and other interested
parties. - Corresponds with prospective students including applicants, family, alumni, school counselors and others seeking
information on admissions standards, academic and non-academic programs, and student activities; makes telephone calls and schedules
personal visits with prospective students, as appropriate. - May participate in the admissions and scholarship selection committee
process to identify prospective students and submit acceptance to the unit’s program. - Develops programs and communication tools for
the recruitment of prospective students. - Maintains a University vehicle (van), including periodic cleaning of inside and outside and
scheduling routine maintenance. - Creates and maintains prospect records in the campus recruiting management (CRM) system; prepares
reports and/or analyzes data to coordinate recruiting efforts. - Performs related or similar duties as required or
assigned.
