Position Summary:

The primary focus of the Transfer Admissions Counselor is to move admitted transfer and early
college students to enrolled students. In focusing those efforts, this individual manages the transfer selection and application evaluation
by screening, verifying, and evaluating documents to make official admissions decisions on behalf of the University.

The
Transfer Admissions Counselor will be expected to communicate frequently with prospective students via verbal, written and electronic
communication as they work to both build relationships and create a sense of familiarity and trust between prospective students and Wingate
University. The Transfer Admissions Counselor will be required to meet with prospective students and their influencers as part of the
prospective student’s campus visit experience.

The Transfer Admissions will be expected to have (1) a knowledge of the
undergraduate transfer admissions process; (2) a solid understanding of the financial aid process; and (3) a desire to be part of the campus
community. In addition, the Transfer Admissions Counselor must be self- motivated and ready to, both collaboratively as well as
independently, work towards creating and maintaining relationships with prospective students and their influencers in a way that is
authentic and accurately represents Wingate University. This position reports to the Director of Transfer & Specialized Admissions and is a
full-time, exempt position based out of the Wingate, NC campus. Some weekend and evening hours may be required for recruitment events.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet with visiting prospective students and their influencers at a
    part of the on campus visit experience.
  • Create and maintain relationships with prospective students, early college high
    school counselors, and community college counselors via written, verbal, electronic and in-person communication.
  • Presents
    information sessions at Wingate and at early college high schools, community college fairs, community programs and other special
    events.
  • Advises and counsels prospective transfer and early college students on the educational opportunities at Wingate,
    transfer admissions criteria, transfer credits, policies and procedures, academic and major scholarship programs and student services within
    the university.
  • Review admissions files and render admissions decisions.
  • Complete NC Community College
    transcript evaluations and send completed evaluations to admitted transfer students.
  • Assist the Admissions Counselor for
    Athletes and International Students as needed.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and duties assigned by the Director of
    Transfer and Specialized Admissions

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; one year of
Admissions experience preferred.
